Refund Policy
Last Updated: August 2026
Consulting CPA PLLC provides professional tax, accounting, consulting, and tax-related services. Because professional services involve time, analysis, preparation, research, communication, and professional work, refunds depend on the circumstances of the specific engagement.
1. General Policy
Refund eligibility depends on: services performed, engagement terms, work completed, fees paid, applicable written agreements, and applicable law.
2. Completed Professional Services
Fees for professional services already performed are generally non-refundable. This may include: tax return preparation, tax research, tax planning, tax projections, accounting work, tax resolution analysis, preparation of documents, and professional consultations.
3. Tax Return Preparation
Once significant work has been performed on a tax return, the fees associated with completed professional work may not be refundable simply because the client later chooses not to file the return.
4. Tax Planning
Tax planning fees may be non-refundable after professional analysis, research, projections, or consultation services have been performed.
5. Tax Resolution
Tax resolution services may involve research, correspondence, document preparation, government communications, analysis, and professional time. Fees for work already performed are generally non-refundable.
6. Consultations
Consultation fees, where applicable, may be non-refundable after the consultation has occurred. If a consultation is canceled before the scheduled appointment, eligibility for a refund may depend on the applicable appointment or engagement terms.
7. Cancellations
Clients should contact the office as soon as possible when canceling an appointment or service. Cancellation policies may vary depending on the service and timing.
8. Third-Party Fees
Certain third-party fees, filing fees, government fees, software charges, or other expenses may not be refundable.
9. Duplicate Payments
If a customer accidentally makes a verified duplicate payment, the duplicate amount may be refunded after review.
10. Overpayments
Verified overpayments may be refunded or credited as appropriate.
11. No Guarantee of Tax Outcome
A refund request cannot be based solely on the amount of a tax refund, tax savings, IRS determination, or government decision. Professional fees compensate for services performed and are not contingent upon a guaranteed tax result unless expressly agreed in writing.
